Lake Apopka Loop Trail Ribbon Cuttings

The opening of the first segment of the Lake Apopka Loop Trail in Orange County attended by Jim Thomas, the man behind the restoration of Lake Apopka. Restoration required the restoration of 20,000 acres of wetlands on former farmland. These wetlands are now open for passive recreation; greatest use being bicycling and bird watching.

Building trails is actually a process of segments. That is connecting them. These pictures show different ribbon cuttings for several of the segments, some under rainy skies.
